When 3 becomes 4! I first met this lovely family on a branding session for a local momma run clothing brand. We then captured her bump and big sister to be before this wonderful session meeting the new arrival.

With a toddler in the mix we have to be flexible, it’s not the same as with the first born where days are quiet and slow. The toddler dictates the pace, the toddler decides when it is their moment and then when they are done. That is why it’s so important to minimise the stress. A newborn session should feel more like a catch up with a friend. We chat, I listen about the birth and we share stories like friends. All whilst I gently direct and capture the moments that happen around us. As a new Mom the last thing needed is stress, pressure and any more perceived judgement. New Moms are incredibly vulnerable in the first few weeks and months after a new arrival and this awareness is what allows me to personalise the newborn session to be kind, gentle, respectful and supportive.
